Curriculae

Great Revelations Academy’s educational goals are driven by a strategically designed curriculum that is embedded with Islamic values and aligned to the National Common Core Standards which encompass the Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCEs) and High School Content Expectations (HSCEs) within the Michigan Core Merit Standards. To access standards follow the links below.

Our Pre-K through 12 core curriculum consists of the following broad subject areas:  English/language arts, mathematics, science and social studies.  Educational goals and objectives are aligned to the Michigan Core Curriculum Framework. Islamic Studies are taught daily and related connections are made across core content areas. Arabic, as being the language of Islam, is provided daily.  In addition to providing all students a robust foundation in each of the core academic areas, students are also exposed to a variety of specialty areas including: physical education, health and safety, computer sciences, visual and applied arts, and international cultures.

The curriculum is a complex living document that is continually reviewed, revised and edited to continuously meet the needs of students.

Classroom subject area teachers are responsible for implementing and delivering the Academy’s curriculum. Additional responsibilities include managing and directing student progress, facilitating learning, coordinating group projects, developing, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting student and class performance.  Teachers recommend changes in a student’s educational plan and develop and implement learning activities (e.g. lecture, group projects, student research, and learning trips), and mentor.
